Its been a while since my last update, and have a lot to update on.
As my last entry said, I broke my foot while participating in the Polar Bear Plunge in February. On March 20, I ended up having to have surgery on my foot because it wasnt healing by itself. They ended up putting a plate and five screws in my foot to secure the bone back together. After the long process of a wheelchair, walker and crutches, I am in a walking boot, which I found out on Monday I can start gradually making my way out of. Its hard to believe its been over two months since Ive been able to walk. I didnt think relearning to walk with both feet would be so difficult, but I am starting to learn again. The doctor also said I would be good to go for the summer, so I will be swim coaching and life guarding at my neighborhood pool again.
In March we also had St. Baldricks. I had my Jamie's Gents and Gals team at 4th Street Live and we also had our event at St. Albert for the 7th year. Both were a HUGE success, as always. We have reached over $75,000 at St. Albert, which is awesome. Thank you for all of your support!!! I donated my hair again this year as well. I had 11 inches to donate, so my hair is the shortest it has been in a while since I was bald, but am enjoying it.
School is still going well. I have applied to enter the nursing program for the fall semester, so keep your fingers crossed I will get in.
