Hi Friends,
I know it's been a while since an update but we have been on the go. I am teaching Summer School until the end of June and then we will be taking a much needed vacation to visit family in South Dakota and Ohio. Steve and I have decided we want to take Steph somewhere new every summer- this year it's Mt. Rushmore and The Grand Canyon. For us I think this symbolizes the mountain we have climbed and the vastness of God's mercy and love.
Stephanie was on hand at Andrew's lemonade stand this past weekend to help serve lemonade and greet the customers. The stand was located at North Hampton Swim Center in Spring. A great big hooray to Val and Roby Price for all their hard work. Andrew's parents did a wonderful job building this stand to help a little girl in PA raise money to do research for neuroblastoma. This little girl, Alex, has raised thousands of dollars and this years goal was one million dollars. Whoever said "great things come in small packages", must have met Alex!!!! She has also written a book called, "Alex's Lemonade Stand" and it is for sale on the web. This little eight-year old has accomplished quite a bit in her young, cancer-stricken life.
I guess the question for all of us is: What have we done?
Let's continue to pray for all God's children who are battling just to live.
God Bless all our supporters.
Amen

Dear Friends,
Happy Easter!!
What a Blessed Easter season it is as we celebrate Christ's victory over death. Steve and I went to see The Passion of The Christ a few weeks ago. The whole time I watched, tears streaming down my face, thinking about the miracle we were given. I will never understand how God could give his only Son to suffer and die for my sins and yet whisper to me in my darkest hour, "Remember Abraham and Issac". That we should even have the priviledge to call upon the Lord is unbelievable after all he has done. But, Praise God the Easter story didn't end with the crucifixion.
That was the beginning for you and me!!!!
Amen.

Dear Friends,
We have had a wonderful time this past week celebrating the second anniversary of Stephanie's stem-cell transplant.
It is such a joy to share with all of our friends and loved ones the success story of our "miracle girl".
However, this season is not without it's painful memories. On this holy day of All Saint's Day, I would like us to remember two very dear friends, Rick Barrios(leukemia) and our precious Andrew(Wilm's Tumor). We will always remember you!
I do not know how long this disease will haunt me but I know that with God's grace I have come farther than I ever imagined. My daughter is a living example of the divine love of God and we know that we have been blessed!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Harvest Time,
The Wade's

Hello Friends,
Well, our summer fun has come to end and school is back in full swing! We had a wonderful time in Ohio visiting family and friends so be sure to check out the new pictures of our summer adventures.
Mom is teaching third grade, again, and Dad is starting his nursing classes on Monday so we are all keeping very busy. I am learning to play a new computer game that teaches me the ABC'S and trying to ride my new training bike. Turning four years old has brought new challenges and excitement and we are enjoying every day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My days are filled with lots of fun, learning, and laughter. Sometimes my Mom cries because she feels so blessed by GOD and I wonder why she is crying and smiling at the same time. Can someone explain this to me?
We wish for you the same joy with your families.
PRAISE GOD!!!

Dear Friends,
Well, Summer school is over and we all survived it!!!!!
Mom says it was good to keep me on a schedule but she had a harder time with it than I did(smile).
Anyway, we are off to Ohio to visit my Nanny & Papa and all of my aunts and cousins, it will be a blast!!! They are all so excited to throw me a big birthday bash for my #4. It will be complete with all the Dora the Explorer and Boots trimmings. One thing I'm looking forward to is trying out all the rides at the OHIO STATE FAIR. Mom says it's one of the biggest State Fairs and how much she loved it when she was a kid(??). We will be sure to post lots of pictures as soon as we get back to share with all.
Everyone be safe and enjoy what's left of your summer!!!!!

Dear Friends,
Today is Stephanie's 3-month CT-Scans and MIBG.
We are so blessed with her continued good health and development. She is singing the ABC's and Old MacDonald's Farm all by herself and we have decided that she likes to direct too! She is full of personality and opinions as most four year olds are. Yes, four is right around the corner on July 31!!!!!
She is everything we always knew she would be and we thank God everyday that we can experience each phase of her life with such celebration. PRAISE GOD!!!!
Be sure to check out the new pictures on the web page.

Dear Friends,

I just had another round of CT's and MIBG and I am a real pro!!!!!!! I managed to drink three cups of contrast all by myself(no NG tube). However, I did become a little irritated when they stuck me three times for blood work.
I was not a happy camper, but afterwards Mama took me to McDonald's and everything was fine. We are anxiously awaiting the results of the tests and will share as soon as we know anything. I have grown into such a beauty that it is almost hard to believe everything I have been through. I am 40in. tall and weigh 37lbs. I still love cantaloupe, cheese, spaghetti-o's and hotdogs. I will not eat real meat or anything GREEN!
PLEASE remember to check this site whenever possible because it is through you that we find our support. God is our saviour.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a wonderous holiday season we had.
We celebrated Stephanie's continued good health by sponsoring a child, with neuroblastoma, for Christmas.
It was such a joy to be able to offer hope and support to another family during the holidays. We are always so aware of the blessings that we have been granted.
Stephanie really enjoyed this Christmas and being on the receiving end of all those presents. She is growing and developing into a typical 3 1/2 year old. She asks sooo many questions and repeats everything she hears! Her favorite things are ,anyhting Explora Dora, hot dogs, and Spaghetti O's. She is growing up so fast that sometimes it seems like it was all a bad dream. However, bloodtests and CT Scans always bring us back to reality! We praise God and tell everyone we meet what HE has done for our little girl. We ask that ya'll keep us in your prayers and continue to spread the good news about what GOD can do!!!!!

Hello friends,
WOW! It's hard to believe that it's been a year since transplant(Oct. 26th) and all is well!!
I had my CT Scans on October 28th and I was a real champion with the whole hospital staff. I drank three glasses of dye and laid on the table without being strapped down.
Mamma is so proud of me and she took me to TOYS >R>Us to celebrate. We ate at McDonald's and I played on the playland- it was a great day.
Halloween is tomorrow and I am very excited about that. My DayCare is having a little party and I will wear my Sponge-BOB-Square-Pants costume. Mamma will take pictures to post on the website. It will be much more exciting than last year. I was all bloated, swollen, and not able to eat candy. I remember all the nice nurses that wore costumes and tried make things festive for ALL the patients on the bone marrow unit. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Halloween to all my friends,
Love,
Stephanie

Dear Friends,
It has been a while since we've written because we have all been so busy. I am in a Day Care with lots of other three year olds and it has been very good for me. I am learning to share, take turns, and I'm not the only one that thinks everything is mine!!!!!!!
Mamma and Daddy are busy working and chasing after me(they're not complaining!!!). We are in the process of trying to sell our house so that is an added stress of keeping things in good condition everyday. We are excited because we are moving-Mamma says we need a fresh start in a new environment. I have no idea what she means but I like looking at all the nice houses. We think Conroe will be a nice quiet area for me to ride my bike and run around with Maggie and Molly(my labradors).
Health wise I am doing fine, have a nasty cough but I am taking some antibiotics. My next scans will be at the end of October and we will celebrate a year since bone marrow!
Thank God for all your support because together we have made a long journey.
God Bless Ya'LL

Hello Friends,
Hooray! It's offical- I'm finally three!!!!!!!!!
We had a wonderful birthday party at Celebration Station with lots of family and friends. My Uncle from Japan showed up and really suprised us all! Aunt Suzanne and Larry were there too, along with Valerie and Trey (Andrew's mom amd brother) it was a great party. Look for pictures soon. Mamma is getting ready to go back to work and things are just crazy around our house. My scans on July 31st were all good they are still watching the area that they call "scar tissue"" so we must continue to pray that I am healing. Look for news of the second annual Little Princess Golf Tournament -soon! We want to raise money for other families that are dealing with neuroblastoma.
Thanks for your love and support.

Hello Friends,
It's been a while since our last update but we are all fine and staying busy. Mamma is attending a Reading Conference for school this week and I am home having fun with Daddy.
We are all excited because on July 31st I will turn 3!
Mamma and Daddy are looking forward to the big birthday bash (I'm not sure what all the fuss is about???????)
We will be sure to invite everyone to the festivities via the web-page. There is talk that I will be featured in an
ad campaign for TCH this fall featuring children with Neuroblastoma. This will raise awareness and hopefully FUNDS, for Neuroblastoma research.
We want to stay active and do whatever we can to help this cause and we may be asking all of our friends to join with us. Whether with prayers, donations or other activities we are so BLESSED because we have your support!!!!!!
GOD BLESS YOU.

Hello Friends,
This is avery exciting time for us because Mamma and I are off to Ohio to visit her family. We are looking forward to visiting all my cousins who range in age from 6 months to 16 years. Some of them have not seen me since I began my treatment last year so they are in for a big treat! Mamma has some last minute packing to do and so took this opportunity to update the site. We will certainly share all of our exciting adventures of Amish Country, Kings Island, and the Columbus Zoo with all of you. Be looking for some great pictures when we return from our 2 week trip. Keep us in your prayers as we are always "thanking God" for all of you.
P.S. Look after Daddy and Aunt Trudie so they will not be too lonely, Thanks!

Dear Friends & Family,
Wow! What a year we've all had-uh?
It is with a joyful heart that I write this on the one year anniversary of Stephanie's
diagnosis. She has surpassed all expectations and God has truly shown us that miracles are still possible. Her latest CT Scans shown that she is still cancer-free and we are trusting God that she always will be. She is growing and blossoming into such a beautiful, happy, almost three year old. She loves her two labs, Maggie and Molly, any Disney Movie especially Peter Pan and playing outside! She makes us laugh when she says "my name is Tephanie Wade" and "it's ice to meet ou".
She now weighs thirty two pounds and is 37 inches tall. We just wanted to share some of the good stuff with all of those that have gone on this journey with us.
As always, we give the glory to God who makes all things possible.
WE ARE SO BLESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amen

Hello Friends,
Well, what a hectic week- CT Scans on Wednesday and the MIBG on Thursday.
We are waiting for the results but feel confident that all is well with our little angel!
Our thanks and appreciation to all those that continue to keep us in their prayers
during this stressful time. Steve is still looking for a job and we are praying for something to come along. We believe that whatever it is God will provide us with our
needs.
Please pray for Stephanie's little friend Abbey. We saw them during CT Scans and Abbey's tumor has come back. Abbey is seven years old and has been battling
Neuroblastoma just like Stephanie. We are so heartbroken to learn that the same protocol does not promise any guarantees. We must pray for Abbey and her mother
that God will surround them and give them strength to keep going!! It is soooo hard.
Celebrate each day all that God has given and praise him for his blessings.
Amen.

Hello Friends,
Great News!!!!!!!!
Stephanie went to the clinic today and her blood counts were good. She weighs 30lbs and is 3'2 tall. She is just blooming like a spring flower! We are so blessed and we know that it is a result of the power of prayer. Please pray that God will now take acre of us financially as Steve is still not able to find a job(6months). We believe that God has something special for him but we want it now (like human nature)!

Hello Friends,
What a wonderful Easter Celebration we had!
Stephanie was so excited about her first experience dyeing eggs that she was a little over exuberent. She had blue dye all the way to her elbows, but it makes for some great pictures! She had a little Easter Egg Hunt at my brother's house in San Antonio. We really enjoyed being in San Antonio for the holiday but we missed all of our friends here. Keep ckecking the web site as there will be some great pictures soon!

Hello Friends,
Good News! Stephanie has started taking her retinoic-acid(pill) and she swallows it down just like a big girl. She even claps for herself and says "all gone." We are very proud of her because this is a difficult thing for a two year old to do twice a day.
She has recovered nicely from the pneumonia and has even gained a few pounds.
The doctors are so pleased with her progress and she is an inspiration to some of the new patients at TCH. We are so blessed to be spending another Easter together and we will be having a little Easter Egg Hunt in memory of our precious Andrew.
Sweet Andrew,
Not a day goes by that we do not think about you.
We know this Easter you want us to find comfort and hope in the reserection as you have.
We love you,

Monday, March 18, 2002 at 08:44 PM (CST)

Hello Friends,
Stephanie was released from TCH on March,14th and she is home and feeling fine.
We were allowed to come home because they inserted a PICC line (mini central line) in her forearm. This enables me to administer the antibiotics to her 3 times a day at home. I am becoming quite an accomplished nurse ha! ha!
Please continue prayers for Steve's job search as it is really wearing on us both.
We believe that there is something great in store for him and we are trying to remain faithful. "For I know the plans I have for you says the lord..."
This is the verse we are leaning on as well as our many dear and faithful friends-GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Friends,
I realize some of you may not be aware that Stephanie was diagnosed with double pneumonia on Thursday, March 8th. We have been in the hospital for six days. She has been receiving antibiotics which seem to be working and the doctors are pleased with her progress. We are all very relieved that she is responding because this type of pneumonia is very dangerous for post-transplant patients. Please keep us all in your prayers as this has been big scare for us. She had a bronchoscopy on Saturday which helped relieved some of the pressure and it also helped them to identify the exact type of pneumonia in order to treat it effectively.
Thanks to all who are still checking the web page.

Hello Friends,
HURRAY!!!!!!!!!!! The Central Line is out and we are rejoicing.
Stephanie doesn't seem to realize it yet so we're not sure what she's thinking.
Keep us in your prayers for strength to endure the job situation and praise GOD with us for our blessings! He is still the creator and master of the universe.

Monday, March 04, 2002 at 10:28 AM (CST)

Hello Friends,
We had a little scare this past weekend but all is well now. On Thursday, we took Stephanie to the hospital with signs of pneumonia and a high fever(102.5). Lukily she was treated with some high doses of antibiotics at the Cancer Clinic and we are giving two antibiotics at home as well. She is still scheduled to have her central line removed on Wednesday. YEAH!!!!!
On another note, PLEASE - PLEASE - PLEASE keep us in your prayers as Steve's job search continues. His transmission went out on his truck and with no job prospects he is starting to feel the strain of the weight we have been trying to bear.
We are still trusting GOD.

Hello Friends,
Stephanie has a major cold that started this weekend and it is making her miserable. Runny nose, congestestion, coughing and sneezing! Luckily though, no fever or nausea. She is going to the clinic tomorrow for another liver screening and her central line will be removed on March 6th- YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
Please keep us in your prayers as Steve's job search continues and there seems to be no prospects in sight. But, we know God has a plan and he will greatly reward us for our suffering.
Amen.

Saturday February 16, 2002 9:48 AM CST

Hello Friends,
Stephanie went to the clinic on Thursday for routine CBC and we discovered that her liver enzymes are still not in the normal range. She cannot start the cis-retinoic acid until the liver function is normal.
Her surgeon is out of town unitl Tuesday so we are waiting for him to call and schedule the removal of the central line.
Please continue to pray that her liver enzymes will return to normal soon!
We are blessed that she has not had any complications other than with the liver.
Keep us in your prayers.

Friday February 8, 2002 1:20 PM CST

Hello Friends,
We have great news to report- Stephanie's CT Scan & MIBG both look normal and her liver enzymes are 1/2 what they were last week. PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!!
Dr. Su thinks the antibiotic was causing her liver to over function so we have stopped that medication. He did notice a thickening of the colon so we will be watching that closely in the future.
Thank You for all of the support we recieved, this week was so busy with all the tests and scans.
Stephanie is a true miracle from God and we feel so priviledged to share her with ya'll.

Saturday February 2, 2002 4:52 PM CST

Hello Friends,
Thursday we were informed that Stephanie's liver enzymes were really high so the doctor ordered more tests. Daddy took her back on Friday for a complete liver panel and we should know the results this week.
There are several possibilities but Dr. Su says that it's too soon to jump to any conclusions. We will ask that ya'll join us in praying for favorable results because we believe that it could just be her antibiotic. She is scheduled for a CT and MIBG on the 6th &7th which will look for any signs of tumor. Mamma and Daddy need support because these scans always leave us a little unnerved. Let's praise God because he has brought us this far and he will continue to see us through. Stephanie remains playful, happy, and eating tons of klope a.k.a (cantaloupe)!

Friday January 25, 2002 10:23 AM CST

Hello Friends,
We have made it through another week and everything is great!
Stephanie will start her "anti-cancer" pill, retinoic acid, very soon. This drug is able to change the neuroblastoma cells to regular cells before they can mature.
Isn't science wonderful. PRAISE GOD! She will also undergo another scan in February to follow up on the irradiated area. We ask for prayers that the scans will be clear and Stephanie will continue to grow in the glory of God. Amen.

It brings tears to our eyes to know that God has sent all of you to uplift our spirits when we needed it the most- Praise God!!!!!!! Hello Friends,
Today was a very good day for our first radiation treatment. It was quick and painless and a very professional procedure.
I actually woke up asking for cookies so Mamma and Daddy bought me some chocolate chip cookies and I ate them on the way home.
Mamma is hopeful that these treatments will restore my appetite!
Thanks to all of you who have sent us so many wonderful wishes for this Christmas Season.
Believe me, we are going to celebrate more than one miracle this year-Praise God!!!!!!!

Hello Friends,
Christmas is truly a time of miracles!!!
We had an official reading of the CT Scans from Dr. Su today and it was very good news.
Stephanie's scar tissue or residual tumor is shrinking and therefore the radiation will be focused primarily in that area.
We were expecting to need a transfusion this morning but- more good news- we didn't need one. Her blood counts are coming up on their own without any help. Praise God!
Yesterday we went to Chik-fil-A and celebrated in memory of Andrew, whom we miss dearly. We ask for extra prayers for his family that they may be comforted during the holidays.
We will keep ya'll posted on the progress of the radiation treatments.
In Jesus Name-Amen.

Hello friends,
We are anxiously awaiting the "official" reading of the CT results but from all indications things must be good.
We spent tweleve hours at TCH and MDAnderson
yesterday going between scans, lunch, consultation and pre-radiation checkup.
It was exhausting and we were a little overwhelmed by the whole process but we managed to keep our sense of humor! Today we were back at MD Anderson for the radiation simulation which is where they mark her body for the radiation she will receive over the next tweleve to fifteen days. This will be done as an outpatient so she will be home for Christmas-yeah!!!!
Stephanie is feeling good and shows no sign of the ordeal she has been through these last few days.
Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes -we will share the results as soon as we know them!

Everything is fine here at the Wade house because daddy is finally home!
We really did miss him while he was away but now that he is officially unemployed he will be spending more time at home-yeah!
Tomorrow I have a clinic visit and next Tuesday I will have my first Ct Scan since my surgery/transplant. Please continue prayers that all will be well with me.
Remember our dear friends Roby & Valerie Price, dealing with the loss of their precious Andrew. We miss him too and can not even imagine the pain they are feeling.
Remember all the little ones on the ninth floor of TCH that their Holidays with be bright- that is our Christmas wish.

Hello Friends,
Things are going well here in room 846.
My white blood cells are 5.94 (normal) and my ANC (antibodies) are over 3,000 so I am on the road to a full recovery. My platelettes have not recovered yet so I will require another transfusion to give them a boost. I still have a nagging cough and runny nose which has kept me in isolation for the past three weeks. The doctors say we just have to let it run its course and maybe I can go home sometime next week. YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
What a wonderful Thanksgiving this will be.

Hello Friends,
Yesterday I showed signs of signifigant improvement. I sat up in bed to watch Scooby-Doo and I ate some macaroni&cheese-it was soooo good!
My blood counts are on the rise and they are starting to take me off of some of the medications. We are praising God that things are starting to look much brighter.
Continue to pray for my dear friend Andrew who is on his way to Washington DC. We need to believe that God has a plan in all of this.

I had my stem cell transplant last week. I have been running fever for the past few days and have my mucousitis back, I am receiving platlettes daily but on an upbeat note my blood counts are coming up! (from .06 to .13 today)
It will be a long slow road but I am a fighter just like my mommy!
I am sitting up, watching cartoons and sipping water! Much more than I have done in the past week!
Please remember me in your prayers,

Well, here I am at last- on the Bone Marrow Unit of TCH and so far I am feeling great!
I am receiving 24 hour continuous Chemo for 3 days that will irradicate my exsisting bone marrow. After that I will receive my own stem cells that were harvested from my body way back in June. Please join my parents in praying that this will be the victory we need to defeat this neuroblastoma. I had a wonderful visit from my friend Andrew today. We are both in excellent spirits and take everything one day at a time! As always, Praise God all creatures here below...

Well, I have a few extra days before I begin my transplant due to some scheduling conflicts with hearing and cardio exams.
Please pray for a successful transplant process as my Mamma and Daddy are so anxious. Pray for the family of my little friend Claire who lost her battle last week.
She was post-transplant approximately 1 month when she developed complications. PLease pray that God will grant us the strength to endure this final phase of treatment.Pray that angels will surround me during this time!!!

Hello Friends,
Well I am at home trying to regain my strength after the big surgery!
The doctors say that I am doing fine and I will be able to start my stem cell transplant next week. We still need your prayers that all goes well with this procedure, as it is the last step for my recovery. Remember to pray for all my friends too, like Andrew, Kameron and Mitchell.
Love to All,
Stephanie Elise

Well its done. The surgeons say it was a big success. They have removed the rest of the tumor and there is no damage to any surrounding organs. The next serveral days I will have to regain my strength.
My grandmother from Ohio will be in Saturday to help mom and dad for two weeks.
Thank-you again for all your prayers.

Hello Friends,

Well, tomorrow is the big day- my surgery is finally here. The surgeon talked with Mamma and Daddy yesterday and now it is full steam ahead! Mamma is very nervous about me being under anesthesia for 6 hours but we are leaving it all in God's hands. Please continue to pray for my healing process as the next couple of days will find me trying to recuperate and regain my usual energy.
Love to all and God Bless you always,
Stephanie Elise

Hello Friends,
Let's start with the golf tournament-
What a success it was!!!!!
Thanks to all who came out it was a beautiful day and we could feel the spirit that surrounded us. We will always be grateful to our friends and neighbors who supported this effort. A special " thank you " to Danie(Dana Cook) for all her hard work.
We have the results of the CT Scan and the news is so encouraging. The tumor has shrunk from the size of a grapefruit to the size of a golfball(how fitting!) and we are
preparing for surgery on Wednesday, Sept.26. Keep us in your prayers that all goes well and I will be on the road to recovery in no time.
Remember to Praise God in all things and keep the faith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Thursday, September 06, 2001 at 04:41 PM (CDT)

PRAISE GOD!!!!
The response to our golf tournament has been wonderful. We have a senior sponsor-
Interfacing Co. of Texas in the Woodlands .
We have over 65 players and entry forms are still coming in. The hole sponsors will have their names printed on the t-shirts and there are only two hole sponsorships left to sell. We will have t-shirts and visors for sell at the tournament to commermorate the occasion. Volunteers are still needed to help out that day so let's all come out and have a great time and eat some bar-b-que!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stephanie Elise

Hello Friends,
I am still here in room 33 on the 9th floor.
Except for the rain nothing exciting is happening here. I am waiting for a blood and
platelettes transfusion today and then - maybe- I can go home this evening!
Next week is full of tests, tests, and more tests. Basically these are to get me prepared for my surgery and transplant.
Thanks to all the golfers who have signed up so far-what a blessing! We know there are more of you out there and we are waiting for you to send in those entry forms and fees. We are praying that God will provide a beautiful day for a golf tournament.
God Bless ya'll for your support. We couldn't do this without you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello friends,
I was released on Thursday evening and returned Thursday evening due to vomiting and a fever. Round five is over and once we get the vomiting under control I will go home to recover, possibly on Saturday. Then we will wait our 7 to 10 days to build myself up and will then proceed to the next step, which will be more tests and then surgery to remove whats left of the tumor.
In the meantime, we still need a couple more hole sponsers for the golf tournament on September 15. WE NEED PAYMENTS AND REGISTRATION PAPERS ASAP SO THAT WE CAN CONFIRM HOW MANY DINNERS TO ORDER.
Thank you to everyone who has sent in their registration forms and we look forward to seeing you at the golf tournament.

Hello Friends,
I am in the hospital with an infection- again. The doctors may decide to take me to surgery to remove it and put in a new one.
It appears to be superficial and that is good because it is not in the line itself.
Mamma is a little nervous because she doesn't want me to have surgery again but the doctors say it will be o.k.
We are in room 914 at TCH and hope to hear from some of you real soon!
Love to all,
Stephanie Elise

Tuesday, August 21, 2001 at 06:57 PM (CDT)

Hello Friends,
I had a blood transfusion yesterday and I am feeling fine. Daddy took me to my clinic appt. and it was his first experience
with all the chaos and shuffling that goes on there. What a culture shock!!!!!!!
We go back to clinic on Monday to see if my counts are high enough to begin so pray for good results.
God is in charge and has brought us this far
we are so very grateful for his love and mercy.
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Friday, August 10, 2001 at 10:39 AM (CDT)

Hello Friends,
I have been in TCH since Wednesday evening because I have an infection around my cental line. The doctors think that it is just topical at this point and that's great news! We don't want anymore problems with that thing. I am taking antibiotics 3 times a day through my c.l. and so far I have not had a fever.
I am having fun playing with my buddy Andrew, who is here for his chemo, while I am cooped up in here.
Mamma thinks we will be able to go home today or tomorrow since I do not have a fever.
Please continue to pray for Andrew because his tumor is not shrinking and his parents are really worried. He has new tumors that were not there since his last MIBG. But, he is strong and full of energy and the dynamic duo continues to battle crime on the 9th Floor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Hello Friends,
I have been a little cranky today and just not feeling quite right. I went to school with Mamma today and I always have agood time there. Mamma will be working this week trying to get things ready for the substitute teacher.
My parents want to thank everyone that attended the golf meeting on Sunday evening.
Let's all continue to pray for a corporate sponsor to really come through for us. We have not received an answer from
Gallery Furniture-yet. No news is good news-as they say.
Please continue to pray for my friend Andrew and his family. He should be starting chemo tomorrow and we are praying for better results this time.
As always continue to ask God for his healing hand in all of this.
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Sunday, August 05, 2001 at 06:47 PM (CDT)

Hello Friends,
I am still doing great- alittle cranky though. Mamma says that is to be expected
and I just need to get some rest.
Today there is a meeting at 7:00 for the golf committee and sounds like things are taking off! We are trying to get Gallery Furniture to be our corporate sponsor so let's all pray that they will agree to do it. It takes a lot of networking to organize something this big ,
if anyone has any suggestions please share your ideas with us.
My family really appreciates the time and effort that friends and co-workers have
volunteered. We Thank God every day for placing them in our lives.
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Hello Friends,
WOW!!!!!!!!! What a celebration we had yesterday. It was the greatest birthday party a two year old has ever had.
I shared it with lots of family and special friends like Andrew and Mikey and of course
Joan and Suzanne. They were really good at taking pictures and operating the video camera.
Today the chemo went so smoothly that I think I just might do it again tomorrow
-ha! ha!
From Mamma & Dada:
To everyone that helped with the party in any way we just want to say a great big
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Friends,
Well, today was another good day for me and my Mamma. I took my antibiotics better
and we both took a nice long nap! My Mamma
really needed it too because sometimes she doesn't sleep so good at night.
Anyway, my next chemo starts Wednesday and we are ready for it. After that I'm sure Dr. Su will do another MIBG and/or Cathscan and we will know where we stand.
So let's continue our prayers and believe that all is well with my little body.
Peace & Love to all,
Stephanie Elise

Hello Friends,
Today was another clinic visit and all went well. Dr Su says that I look great and I didn't even need the platelette transfusion he had scheduled for me!
I saw my friend Andrew at clinic and he looks good, we even had lunch at McDonald's.
The revised clinic dates are July 24,25,26 per Dr. Su and will be done on an outpatient basis. Anyone still interested has plenty of time to sign up- that's just for my Mamma's benefit.
We praise God that we are recieving so many blessings during this time. My joy and zest for exploring and socializing are at an all-time high. I am the most on-the-go two year old around!
Keep those prayers going.
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Yeah- Great News!!!!

If there is anyone available to sit with my Mamma July23,24,25 at the clinic let us hear from you. We can work out some kind of schedule with a few different people to break up the time.
Please, as always, continue your prayers for me and all my little friends that God will continue to show his love and mercy. We are so grateful for how far we have come through this ordeal.

Monday, July 16, 2001 at 09:06 PM (CDT)

Hello Friends,
I had a wonderful day today!
I went to visit Ms. Joan at my Mamma's school and we had lots of fun.
I played on the telephone, took notes on a notepad and picked out a special book to read! I already know that we read from left to right because I'm brillant.
Anyway, tomorrow is clinic day and I will have my blood counts done. We are hoping for much better numbers than last week. I will continue on my TPN at home until the doctors think that I am doing fine on my own.
Mamma and I are enjoying everyday together reading, playing and watching cartoons. We even play with makeup and paint each other's face. It's great to be almost two!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Thursday, July 12, 2001 at 10:14 PM (CDT)

Hello,
I go back to clinic tomorrow for a blood and
platelette transfusion. This will help to increase my energy level quite a bit.
My parents are asking for anyone with any suggestions for fund raising projects for financial assistance to contact us.If you are willing to give us a lead to any group or organization that would be willing to assist
us please give us a call or contact our website. Any information will be greatly appreciated!
I will be sure to let everyone know how my transfusion goes.

Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at 04:27 PM (CDT)

We are home!!!!!
It is so great to be at home and play with my own toys.
I will be receiving 12 hour TPN (dinner in a bag) which will run while I am sleeping.
Mamma is getting so skilled at nursing that she should change her profession.
Please pray for my friend ANdrew that his new bone scans will be promising. Also,
please pray for my new friend Kameron Moore
who is 17 months old and has adult (AML)
luekemia.
There are so many families that need God's love and guidance at TCH and we want to remember them all.

Saturday, July 07, 2001 at 07:45 PM (CDT)

Hello Friends,
I am doing sooooooo great!
Tonight my Daddy is staying with me so Mamma
can go home and do some laundry and get some rest. We are looking forward to going home on Monday even though I must stay on 12
hour TPN (dinner in bag). This will help to
keep my protein up as well as help me to maintain my weight. This is necessary because the stem cell infusion/ surgery will
be very hard on my body and I need my strength.
Please continue to pray for my complete
recovery and to help Mamma and Daddy deal with the stress.
PS> They're doing great so far!
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Friday, July 06, 2001 at 01:40 PM (CDT)

Hello Friends,
Today is my last chemo for the week and we are so excited because I have done so well this time. Of course the mucousitis doesn't usually show up until the following week but we're prepared.
Dr. Su says my bone marrow biopsy was clear and Praise God- we knew it would be!
God has protected me throughout this whole process and we owe him all the glory.
I am feeling so great that I run the halls and entertain everyone with my amazing ability to meow just like a cat!!! I am such an actress and all the nurses think I'm
really cute!!!!! But, as much fun as I am having here it will be really nice to go home and enjoy my toys and my friend Mikey.
Keep those prayers coming and remember to Praise God for all our Blessings.
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Wednesday, July 04, 2001 at 10:38 AM (CDT)

Today is a special day because my Dadddy is spending the whole day with me! He doesn't
have to work today so he let Mamma go home so she could have a break.
Mamma says that today when she comes we
will go to the 16th floor, have a picnic dinner and watch the fireworks in downtown Houston. Wow, What a celebration!!!!!!!
Happy 4th of July to everyone.
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Tuesday, July 03, 2001 at 10:16 AM (CDT)

Hello friends,
Today I feel great! My chemo started yesterday and I slept right through it!
I had surgery yesterday for a new central line and a bone marrow biopsy. No news on the biopsy yet, but we are not expecting anything different from the last one.
We know that God has protected my bone marrow from the very beginning and we are believing that to be true.
My birthday is July 31st and I am starting to understand how excited Mamma and Daddy are. They are working really hard to get everything ready for my new swingset.
Remember my friend Andrew in your prayers because he had a virus last week that was really tough on him. Stay strong Andrew!!!!
Joy and Peace in Christ,
Stephanie Elise

Sunday, July 01, 2001 at 05:08 PM (CDT)

Hello,
Well, this was a great weekend!
We had a bar-b-que and I watched my daddy work in the backyard trying to get it ready for my birthday party.
We start the third round on Monday and I
am ready to go and get it over with. The doctors will start by putting in a new central line because they removed the other one before I came home on Thursday. Hopefully, both lines is continue to work for the duration of my treatment.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support and remember to check the website for updates.
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Thursday, June 28, 2001 at 10:51 AM (CDT)

I was admitted to the hospital Monday morning with a temp of 102. We thought that with an antibiotic I would be out by Tuesday. However, the Dr's decided that since I was already here that they would go ahead and collect my stem cells for a transfusion at a later date. So we decided since my blood counts were very good, to proceed with the stem cell collection. On Wednesday about 2/3 of the cells were collected and we will finish the procedure today to get the remaining stem cells. This procedure is not painfull, however it does take a long time and tires me.
Pray for great results today so we can go home tommorrow.
Love
Stephanie Elise

Sunday, June 24, 2001 at 05:05 PM (CDT)

Hello Friends,
I am home and feeling better today.
I ate pudding, bananas and juice this morning. It's such a treat to open up the
fridge and just choose whatever I want!!!
I return to the clinic in the morning to have my blood count done so pray for some better numbers on my white blood cells. It is really important that those start to come up again so that my treatments stay on track. Also, pray that my platlettes will remain steady because I have already had two transfusions.
Mamma worries about keeping me safe because I can have no cuts or bruises right now and I am really pale and tired.
I have watched an Arthur video and Snow White today and it was a lot of fun, my Mamma liked them too.
Have a great weekend and keep those prayers flowing!
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Friday, June 22, 2001 at 06:30 PM (CDT)

Hello Friends,
Today was great!!!!
I actually had something to eat and drink today. It was so good to taste some ice cream and soda and even some pizza. I am also quite the little entertainer when I am feeling up to par. I laughed and played with my friend Andrew and we had so much fun that I took a two hour nap!
Thanks to all of you for your prayers because we know that God is responsible for all of my progress- AMEN!
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Thursday, June 21, 2001 at 02:10 PM (CDT)

Hello Friends,
Today I am receiving a blood transfusion
so I have slept most of the day. Mamma says that's o.k. because I need my rest since this transfusion will really wire me up! We are so thankful that I actually attempted to eat something this morning. Although I never did swallow it, I am making
progress. It's so hard because I want to eat but I know it will hurt so I can't decide what to do.
It's a beautiful day in downtown Houston
and I can't wait to get out there and see it. I have never been to the zoo but Mamma
says we will go when I am finished with my treatments!!!!! There are so many things to see and do for someone that's barely two.
How do I make the time? What should I do first? I'm such an adventurer and the world is so big. You grownups are really lucky people! Thank God for all your blessings everyday.
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at 07:53 PM (CDT)

Hello to All,
Well, I am back at TCH. I came to clinic on Tuesday because I was not eating or drinking and Mamma was a little worried.
When I saw the doctor he said that I was
dehydrated and also needed a platelette
transfusion, so here I am!
I will probably be here until the weekend which will give my blood counts time to recover. I am also experiencing some mouth
pain(mucousitis) like before, which prevents me from eating or drinking. The antibiotics should take care of that though.
Please remember me in your prayers and
I also ask prayers for the family of Jennifer Tran who lost her fight this week!
God Bless All!!!!
Stephanie Elise

Hello Everyone,
Well, my visitors have returned to Ohio and life is back to normal-sorta.
My Mamma says that I have been unusually cranky today, but that I'm entitled.
Maybe it was all the excitement of my cousins being here and that I did not take
regular naps. This week will be back on schedule because Mamma needs her rest too.
Keep us in your thoughts and prayers as
we try to maintain a daily routine!
KEEP PRAYING--------
Stephanie Elise

Friday, June 15, 2001 at 06:51 PM (CDT)

Hello,
Everything is going great! I had my clinic
visit today at 3:00 and there is no news
yet. My lab work should all be normal and we are not anticipating anything out of the ordinary. The next clinic appointment is Wednesday at 2:00- any takers on transportation???? Let my Mamma know if you are available because it helps keep her
calm and four hands are always better than
two.

Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at 05:28 PM (CDT)

Hello Friends!
Well I'm back....
I made it back yesterday to start my second round of chemo and all is going well.
Things were a little delayed because of the flooding but I enjoyed a few extra days at home!
Thanks to all the wonderful people who turned out for the blood drive- it was a great success!
This round has been much better and Praise God because he is giving us comfort and peace to endure - with the help of our
friends and family. By the way, my cousins
are here all the way from Ohio and they really make me laugh!! They brought me a
Franklin Turtle(stuffed animal) and a T-shirt. They are really great and I love them bunches and bazillions!!!!!!!!!
Stay tuned for more info tomorrow and if anyone is willing to help with some landscaping for my upcoming birthday party
please let Mamma or Aunt Trudie know.
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Friday, June 08, 2001 at 05:01 PM (CDT)

Hurray!!!
I went to my clinic appointment today and was
given some great news. My blood counts are
way up and an x-ray showed no clots in my
central line. Dr. Su says that it's time to
begin the next round so we are on call ,as soon as a room becomes available we will be
there. This is good news because I am strong and ready to begin this round of chemo.
Please continue your prayers because chemo is never easy and we know that we can
expect some degree of side effects.
Mamma wants me to suffer as little as possible and that sounds good to me.
Please pray and remember to Thank God for the blessings we have already received
thus far.
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Thursday, June 07, 2001 at 03:19 PM (CDT)

Hello Everyone,
My clinic appointmnet was cancelled today due to the weather but it has been rescheduled for Friday morning at 9:30.
We will probably be admitted straight to the hospital to begin the next round of chemo. My blood counts are very good and Dr. Su says it is time to begin.
Thanks to Mamma's friend Suzanne for watching me today so Mamma could go to WalMart- what a treat! We appreciate all the
people who offer their time and services.
It is truly a blessing from God to have so many people that care about us!
We love you.
May God Bless you all!

Stephanie Elise

Blood tests were higher than they have been, chest x-ray was clean. Mama has to take me back to clinic today and Thursday to make sure those blood counts stay in check. I am laughing and eating but mama says I need to get my rest!
We start round two on Tuesday. Thank-you, thank-you for all your prayers.
There will be a blood drive for me on Monday at dada's work.

Friday, June 01, 2001 at 10:54 AM (CDT)

Good Morning to my friends!!!!!!!
I feel much better today. I am sitting up and playing, watching Barney and eating.
Yes! I said eating. I have sampled a few
cherrios as a snack and even a piece of
chocolate chip cookie. The nurses are helping me role play with my food so I will
be more interested.
My central line is still clogged but we have faith that it will be taken care of.
My white cells are up and my platelettes are down. Looks like more platelettes for me today. That's ok because it helps me to feel better and not to bruise so easily !
I will have a hearing test on Monday and my
next round of Chemo starts on June 8th.
Keep me in your prayers I am a strong little girl and God is on my side!!!!!!!!!!!
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Thursday, May 31, 2001 at 10:12 AM (CDT)

Hello to all my friends out there!!!!!
Well, we had another rough night with the nurses on duty. They just can't seem to let me rest. Mamma was not too impressed either. But, we know that today will be better. There is a clot in my central line and they are trying to determine how to unclog it, so far nothing works.
Please pray for me that they can solve the mystery so I will not need surgery- again!
It was so nice to see Dan & Joan last night and our friend Elaine from church.
Also, a great big THANK YOU to our friends at Link Elementary for all of your kindness and generosity. Praise God! Praise God!
Praise God! From Whom all Blessings flow...
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Hi Friends!!
This is Stephanie here...
I am battling another fever today and I am still not eating. I will receive a blood transfusion later today. I guess the platelettes that I received yesterday did not do the trick.
Also, horror of horrors- my beautiful hair is falling out! Mamma cut some of it today because I pull it out by the handfuls.
Please pray that I will show some improvement soon because I think my Mamma is
starting to act a little strange!
Love,
Stephanie Elise

Tuesday, May 29, 2001 at 10:38 AM (CDT)

Hello to all our friends out there!
Well today is a little better for me.
I sat up and watched some cartoons and I even smiled at the nurse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
However, Mamma says please continue to pray for me that my little body will start to produce its' own platelettes and that my white cells will increase so I will regain
some of my energy and spunkiness. Otherwise we foresee a blood transfusion in the very near future.

Love to all.

Hi to ALL!!!!
Well, I'm still here because I have a few
complications. I have mucousitis, due to the
breakdown of my mucous membranes. This produces sores and blisters on my mouth, tongue and esophagus. This makes it very painful for me to eat and drink.
Last night I began a temperature of 101.4 and it has been holding steady all
day. I am now resting comfortably thanks to the morophine.
Thanks to ya'll for your prayers and good wishes. It could be a lot worse and I know that I have been blessed!!!!!!!!!
My Mamma and Daddy are blessed too because they are surrounded by people that uplift us through prayer!
HUGS & KISSES TO ALL FAMILY&FRIENDS

LOVE,

LOVE,
STEPHANIE ELISE

PRAISE GOD! PRAISE GOD! PRAISE GOD!

I have had three days of Chemotherapy now and I have responded well.
MAMMA and DADDY and my Doctors are amazed at
how strong I am. I have had no reactions or side effects to my treatment so far.
Please keep praying for me and my family
because we know God is listening!!!!!!!!!
Also pray for my Mamma because my Nanna goes
back to Ohio today and we will miss her
because she pulls my wagon and never complains. Thank you for all your love and support and remember to keep those prayers
going.

Hi Folks, my writer has been under the weather.
Thursday, Mommy and Daddy meet with the Doctor and discussed my therapy. I will start Chemo therapy immediately. One week of therapy and then three weeks off. I will have four to five rounds of that. At that point we will do another Cat scan to see if the tumor has shrunk enought to do surgury.
I have sleep better the last two nights, and am eating.
I love being pulled pulled in my wagon, and the old folks are getting tired. Please come help pull the wagon if you can.

This all started a week ago Sunday at church. Mom and dad noticed I was not eating and was very fussy. Tuesday daddy took me to the doctor. I had x-rays done and was told I was constipated. Wednesday after mommy's work she had the dirty deed of giving me an enema. Nothing resulted from this.
Wednesday night at 8:00 they took me to Urgency Care downtown. The doctors at first thought I had a ruptured appendix. I was running a 103 degree temperature. After more x-rays and an IV administered, the emergency room surgeon was called in. He advised that we take an ambulance ride over to Texas Children for a ultra-sound.
Thursday morning a mass was detected in my stomach area. That afternoon I had a CT and the doctors had a better picture of the mass. It was determined at that point that a biopsy needed to be done. The term "neuroblastoma" was brought up. The biopsy will confirm "IF" this is what is going on with me.
Friday the biopsy was performed as well as bone marrow samples. In addition to this a central line was put in for my IV and other medicines.
Saturday I needed a blood transfusion.
Sunday was a rough day----running temperature and just not a happy camper.
